“Absolute Rubbish” Tommy Smsek CSK’s physio slams Harbhajan Singh for “Fake” claims

Tommy Smsek, the physiotherapist of Chennai Super Kings has come out to slam Harbhajan Singh, former CSK player, on his comment regarding MS Dhoni’s anger.

Earlier, Harbhajan Singh was quoted revealing some details of the post-match scenes after RCB knocked Chennai Super Kings out of the IPL 2024. It was a do or die game for either team and CSK was unable to cross the line.

Following this defeat, according to Harbhajan Singh, MS Dhoni had a rare moment, where he lost his temper. In distress of getting knocked out of the tournament, he said to have punched a screen while walking back to the dressing room.

In an interaction with Sports Yaari, he said, “”RCB was celebrating and they deserved to celebrate because of the way they won. I was watching the whole scene from above because I was present there. RCB was celebrating and CSK had lined up to shake hands, RCB were a little late to reach CSK. By the time Team RCB finished their celebration, (Dhoni) went inside and he punched a screen outside the dressing room. I was watching from above but it is okay that every player has his own emotions, it happens.”

However, Tommy has criticized Harbhajan Singh for his words. He was quick to dismiss the claims, by calling them fake news and absolute rubbish.

“This is absolute Rubbish! MSD did not break anything and I have never seen him aggressive after any match. Fake news!” Simsek said while commenting on an Instagram post that had shared Harbhajan’s comment on Dhoni.

Apparently, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horn in their respective final league game with a berth in the qualifiers up for grab. The only catch in this encounter was that RCB didn’t just need to win the game to qualify. They needed to do so by a margin of 18 runs, to ensure they had superior net run rate against CSK.

Chasing a total of 27 runs, CSK didn’t even need to win the game. All they had to do was ensure that their opponent didn’t get a win by the margin of 18 or more runs.

However, the five time champions fell short of achieving that feat as well. Despite a blistering knock of 61 by Rachin Ravindra, and immense contribution of 42 off 22 by Jadeja, CSK couldn’t cross the line and were eliminated from the tournament by the barest of margins possible in the game.
