JSK Batting Lineup 2025-2026: Full Players List & Detailed Analysis

It is said that bowlers win you championships, but batters set the stage for that. For years, the Joburg Super Kings have relied on their bowlers to pull them out of tight corners, but in T20 cricket, you need your batting firepower to show up just as much.

This season, the JSK Batting Lineup 2025 feels different; deeper, smarter, and built for modern T20 chaos. Led by the veteran Faf du Plessis, the Super Kings’ charm is back in full swing, and this time, the JSK batsmen look ready to put on a show. With new signings, retained stalwarts, and exciting youngsters, JSK’s batting strategy has never looked sharper heading into SA20 Season 4.

Who are the players in JSK Batters List?

The JSK Batters List for SA20 2025-26 features a blend of experience and youth. Key names include Faf du Plessis, James Vince, Rivaldo Moonsamy, Rilee Rossouw, Brandon King, and youngster Steve Stolk. Together, they offer stability at the top, power in the middle, and fearless finishing options.

1. Faf du Plessis (Retained)

du Plessis is not just the captaion of the team, he is also leader, the anchor, and sometimes the aggressor of JSK batting line up. Across his career, Faf has scored 11,906 T20 runs with 83 fifties and 8 centuries at a strike rate of 137.

For JSK, his role is bigger than just scoring runs; he sets the tone. And when he bats like he did for Texas Super Kings in MLC, striking at over 150, you know the intent will be there from ball one.

2. James Vince (Retained)

The globe-trotting T20 opener. Vince has played 452 matches, scoring 12,591 runs with 80 fifties and 7 hundreds, all at a strike rate of 136. He’s consistent, technically sound, and brings stability. With Vince opening alongside Faf, JSK finally look like they’ve found their reliable opening partner.

3. Donovan Ferreira (Retained)

Donovan Ferreira is our finisher and x-factor. In 121 T20s, Ferreira has scored 2,233 runs at a strike rate of 170, including 10 fifties. He’s the ideal modern T20 wicketkeeper-batter; aggressive, fearless, and capable of clearing boundaries at will, adding much required flavour to JSK batting line up 2025-2026. If he doesn’t keep wickets, it frees him to bowl a few overs of off-spin, making him even more valuable.

4. Rivaldo Moonsamy

In 50 T20s, Moonsamy has made 968 runs at a strike rate of 120. While not explosive yet, he provides depth and is a backup option at the top. His domestic experience could become valuable if injuries strike or rotation is needed.

5. Rilee Rossouw

Rilee Rossouw will act as a powerhouse in the middle order of the JSK batting line up. In 385 T20s, Rossouw has smashed 9,434 runs at a strike rate of 144, including 53 fifties and 9 centuries.

His aggression against both pace and spin makes him one of the most versatile T20 batters. Expect him to be the aggressor in JSK’s batting strategy, taking on bowlers from the get-go.

6. Brandon King

Top-order gold, King is one of those JSK batters, who will be relied upon to stablise the inning when required. With 3,938 runs in 173 matches, including 25 fifties and 2 centuries at a strike rate of 134, King is a perfect modern T20 batter. If included, he’ll likely slot in at number 3, rotating strike and dominating spinners in the middle overs. His ability to accelerate at will gives JSK flexibility.

7. Steve Stolk

At just 19, there isn’t much of a statistical sample for Stolk. But what excites the management is his fearless batting approach. He represents the future of JSK batting, a youngster who can swing hard without fear.

8. Neil Timmers

The backup keeper. While he may not start regularly, his presence ensures JSK are covered for every scenario.

Who are the All rounders in JSK Squad 2025-2026?

Joburg Super Kings (JSK) have built a balanced core with three key all-rounders for the 2025-26 season. These players bring batting depth, bowling options, and stability across formats.

1. Wiaan Mulder

The most expensive buy in the auction, and worth every cent. In 129 T20s, Mulder has scored 2,181 runs at a strike rate of 133, including 12 half-centuries. His ability to bat in the top 5 and also contribute overs makes him a central figure. Mulder will likely play at number 4, a role that allows him to anchor or attack depending on the situation.

2. Shubham Ranjane

From Texas Super Kings to Joburg, Ranjane brings composure. In 48 matches, he’s scored 654 runs, often calming the storm in the middle order. He’s not flashy, but he’s reliable, and in T20 cricket, having a calm head is invaluable.

3. Dian Forrester

Still raw, but in 11 T20s, Forrester has scored 266 runs at a strike rate near 130. He’s a natural striker of the ball and could slot into the lower-middle order if JSK need finishing firepower.

Detailed Analysis of JSK batting

Top Order Analysis

For years, JSK struggled to find a consistent partner for Faf. We tried du Plooy, Conway, and others, but none clicked long-term. With Vince retained, we finally have stability. Vince allows Faf to play with freedom, just like he did in MLC, where he struck at over 150. That means fireworks from ball one, setting the tone for the innings.

If Brandon King features, he’ll likely bat at number 3, bringing rotation and control against spinners while keeping the scoreboard ticking. Rossouw at 4 will be the aggressor, stepping in to dominate bowlers with his range of strokes. Together, this top order analysis shows balance: two anchors (Faf, Vince), one pacifier (King), and one aggressor (Rossouw).

Middle Order & Finishers

Mulder at 4 or 5 gives us a calm all-rounder who can switch gears as required. Given that he is a great tempo as a player, it won’t take him long to understand the pulse of the game and deliver.

Ferreira, one cannot describe his batting prowess in just one sentence. He is our designated finisher, striking at 170, making him one of the most dangerous lower-middle order batsmen in SA20.

Ranjane and Forrester offer backup and firepower. Ranjane has proven his mettle in the MLC and Forrester has done the same in South Africa youth games, to expect some great aggressive batting in the lower order of JSK batting line up as well.

What could be the right batting order for JSK?

The JSK batting plan should be built on adaptability. In crucial matches of the past, our batting has deserted us. Chases that looked gettable suddenly became impossible, and defending low totals became the storyline of our seasons.

But this time, the management has built a squad like the Avengers; an army of specialists, finishers, and versatile strikers. It feels almost impossible to fail when you look at the sheer depth and variety of the JSK Batting Lineup 2025. If ever there was a season to rewrite history, this is the one.

  • Early Overs: Faf + Vince to maximise powerplay.
  • Middle Overs: King for rotation, Rossouw for aggression.
  • Late Overs: Mulder, Ferreira, Subrayen and Hossain to finish with fireworks.

By mixing these stabilisers with aggressors, JSK can avoid collapses that haunted us in the past. Add in Subrayen, Hosein, and Mulder as all-rounders, and the depth stretches all the way to number 8.

Backups and Flexibility

The likes of Moonsamy, Timmers, Stolk, and Forrester ensure we’re never short of options. And with 2-3 genuine all-rounders in the side (Mulder, Subrayen, Hosein, Ferreira), we have the flexibility to shuffle batting roles based on matchups. That’s intelligent squad building; something JSK lacked in earlier seasons.

Can JSK make it big?

The JSK Batting Lineup 2025 isn’t just names on paper; it’s a strategy come alive. Anchors like Vince and Faf, aggressors like Rossouw and Ferreira, and stabilisers like King and Ranjane give us every kind of batter a modern T20 team needs. Add in Mulder’s all-round brilliance and the young blood in Stolk and Forrester, and suddenly this looks like a batting order that can set up wins rather than just survive.

For the first time in years, the JSK batsmen look balanced, versatile, and dangerous. With the altitude of Joburg, six-hitting conditions, and a clear SA20 batting strategy, don’t be surprised if we see record totals at the Bullring this season. This isn’t the old JSK batting unit haunted by collapses. This is a lineup built to dominate.
