What Does Joburg Super Kings 2025 Squad Look Like Up Till Now?

The pre-signed overseas players are Maheesh Theekshana (Sri Lanka) and Jonny Bairstow (England). The team also made a strategic trade, acquiring Tabraiz Shamsi from the Paarl Royals in exchange for Dayyaan Galiem.

Joburg Super Kings have also strengthened their squad with significant additions for the upcoming season. Notably, England’s Jonny Bairstow has been signed, bringing his extensive experience, including winning the 2019 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup and multiple IPL seasons, to the team.

Additionally, Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana will return for a second stint with the team, having previously played in Season 1. Theekshana will be a key part of a formidable spin attack alongside veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir and English all-rounder Moeen Ali. The Super Kings have further powered their spin options by trading all-rounder Dayyaan Galiem to the Paarl Royals in exchange for the South African wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi.

So far the Joburg Super Kings 2025 Squad looks very spin-heavy with the addition of most veteran spinners from all around the globe.

The fast bowling attack has also been bolstered with the retention of left-arm speedster Nandre Burger, dependable Lizaad Williams, and the fiery Gerald Coetzee. These bowlers will be supported by the all-round skills of former Namibian international David Wiese and versatile batters Sibonelo Makhanya and Donovan Ferreira.

All in all, management has done its job wisely by blistering the JSK squad with a perfect combination of players. Now it is up to the Faf du Plessis-led Joburg Super Kings to write their redemption story after finishing second last on the points table in the previous season of the South African T20 League.
