Chennai Super Kings is blessed with a long list of youngsters, something that we don’t really associate with them. However, one of the most interesting Indian youth in the lot is Andre Siddarth.
He was one of the top youth picks for CSK in the 2025 Mega Auction. But he didn’t get a chance to make a mark for the team in the 18th edition of the tournament.
That has not dissuaded him one bit, though. Instead, it seems the lack of opportunity has fueled his desire to do better, as reflected in his recent outings in the domestic season.

80 vs Jharkhand
Siddarth started off his Ranji Trophy season with a low score of 2 in the first game against Jharkhand. It was a tricky inning in which Jharkhand bowlers had the best of the hosts, bundling them for just 93 runs after posting a massive 419.
In the second inning, however, Andre Siddarth scored a feisty fifty. He played a gritty knock of 80 runs from 180 balls and showcased his class, while wickets tumbled all around him. When he arrived at the crease, his team was once again reeling at the score of 41 for 2 wickets in just 18.3 overs.
From there onwards, he tried to stick together small partnerships, along with Indrajith and Sharukh Khan. And by the time he got out in the 73rd over, his team had 198 runs on the board.
This knock was not enough to save the game for his side, but it would have given him a huge confidence boost for the season ahead.
65 vs Nagaland
Andre Siddarth’s Ranji Trophy score only got better in the second game of the tournament as the player added another fifty to his name in the game against Nagaland.
Although his team was already in pole position this time around, with Khumar and Paul scoring daddy hundreds, Siddarth showcased his class with a quick fifty and an overall score of 65 runs from just 93 balls.
This inning of his also saw him smash 10 boundaries. Together, Siddarth and Pardosh Paul added 124 runs for the second wicket. This partnership helped Tamil Nadu post a strong total of 512 runs from just 115 overs, before declaring.
