Widely known for his moral conduct, former India captain MS Dhoni received a legal notice from the Jharkhand High Court following a business related case. The case is filed by his former business partners, Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das. Both Diwakar and Das are directors of Aarka Sports and Management Ltd., a company Dhoni had worked with to establish cricket academies under his name.

The dispute began when Dhoni lodged a formal complaint on January 5 in Ranchi, claiming that Diwakar and Das had defrauded him of INR 15 crore. According to Dhoni, despite leaving their authority in 2021, Diwakar and Das continued to open cricket academies using his name without permission. This led Dhoni to take legal action, accusing the co-directors of breaking the terms of their agreement.

In response, Diwakar and Das challenged the notice issued by a judicial magistrate by taking the matter to the High Court. The Jharkhand High Court has now directed Dhoni to appear and present his side of the story. The court has also summoned Diwakar, his wife, and their company, Aarka Sports and Management Ltd., to attend the hearing and provide their explanation on the matter.
Aarka Sports is well-known for its involvement in player management and the development of sports facilities. The company provides budding cricketers with training opportunities and support to help them grow in the sport. The company is established in Sector 63, Noida, and has been active in promoting cricket and managing players for several years.
Dhoni’s partnership with Diwakar and Das dates back to 2017 when they initially agreed to work together on launching cricket academies. However, things took a turn in 2021 when Dhoni withdrew his authority, leading to legal battles.
