IPL 2025, CSK vs LSG, Highlights: Super Kings End 5-Match Losing Streak, Win by 5 Wickets against Lucknow

IPL 2025, CSK vs LSG, Highlights: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally managed to end their five-match losing streak in IPL 2025 with a thrilling win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 30 at the Ekana Stadium. It was a much-needed victory for CSK, and it came in true Dhoni-style fashion—late drama, nerves of steel, and a vintage finish.

LSG, after being asked to bat first, posted a total of 166/7, notably their lowest total of the season. The innings saw an early wobble, with Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran dismissed cheaply, thanks to clever bowling set-ups from Khaleel Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj. Rishabh Pant, however, played the anchor role, scoring a steady 63 off 49 balls. His innings was a tale of two halves, initial aggression and later struggle, especially against the spin duo of Noor Ahmad and Ravindra Jadeja. Pant’s late acceleration helped LSG gather 45 runs in the final three overs, aided by a quick cameo from Abdul Samad.

IPL 2025, CSK vs LSG, Highlights: Dube, Dhoni take CSK home

CSK’s chase started brightly, thanks to debutant Shaik Rasheed’s aggressive 27 off 19 balls and a brisk opening stand with Rachin Ravindra. But the middle overs saw CSK falter, with the spin trio of Markram, Bishnoi, and Digvesh Rathi slowing things down and picking key wickets. At 111/5 in 15 overs, needing 56 off the final five, CSK were staring at a sixth straight defeat.

Enter MS Dhoni.

The crowd erupted as the iconic finisher walked in. Alongside a composed Shivam Dube, Dhoni turned the tide. Dube smashed Shardul Thakur for a six and a four, then capitalized on a no-ball to bring the equation down rapidly. Dhoni, with his trademark calm, struck a one-handed six over square leg and a few boundaries, shifting the momentum entirely in CSK’s favor.

Needing just five off the final over, CSK finished the chase with ease, sealing a memorable win and climbing off the bottom of the table. Dube’s 43 and Dhoni’s explosive 11-ball 26 were crucial in this turnaround.

The victory was not just two points—it was a morale booster. CSK showed they still had fight left in them, and with Dhoni back at the helm, fans will hope this marks the beginning of a comeback story in IPL 2025.
