JSK Buy Nandre Burger at SA20 Auction 2025

Joburg Super Kings have acquired the services of Nandre Burger for the upcoming SA20 season in South Africa. The player was sold to JSK, or rather retained by the franchise, for a total of R 6.3 million.

The moment the name of the player popped up, JSK were quick to put up the padel while competing with Super Giants. In no time, the player’s price reached 2 million.

Nandre Burger sold to JSK

JSK remained steadfast in their resolve to acquire the player’s services. The price kept hiking, but the Super Kings were determined. Even Paarl Royals and Pretoria Capitals jumped into the bidding war, but were unable to keep up.

Things went right down to the wire between DSG and JSK. The final price for the bowler was 6.1 million, for which he was offered to DSG. But since JSK previously owned the player, they were offered an RTM.

It was a huge decision to make. Having already lost Dewald Brevis to a very big bid, JSK were not willing to lose another important player and decided to match the price.

DSG, when asked to quote their final price, raised the bar to 6.3 million, and JSK were up to match it. And that’s how Joburg Super Kings bought Nandre Burger at the SA20 auction.

Nandre Burger SA20 auction was an amazing watch, as teams went back and forth to acquire his services. In the end, it was JK who acquired the player.

Injuries with Burger

What’s really fascinating is that the player was out for the entire last season due to injury. He even missed major international action for the same reason.

But in the recently concluded Major League Cricket, the player showed some great promise upon return. He was the leader of the attack for the Texas Super Kings, and the Super Kings franchise would certainly want to retain the player for JSK as well.

Nandre Burger JSK Stats

Nandre Burger’s stint with Joburg Super Kings in the SA20 has been a mixed bag. In 2023, he played 5 matches, picking up just 2 wickets at an expensive average of 76.50, conceding 9 runs per over.

He bounced back in 2024 with a stronger season—11 wickets in 11 matches, including a best of 3/26, while keeping his economy under 8. His bowling was far more consistent, showing control and penetration.

By 2025, though, he didn’t feature in the wickets column, going wicketless across appearances. Burger’s journey with JSK highlights flashes of promise but also inconsistency that he’ll look to iron out.
