MS Dhoni Allegedly Duped Of ₹15 Crore, Files Case Against 2 Former Business Partners

Former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni has filed a criminal case against two individuals, Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash, associated with Aarka Sports Management in Ranchi. The dispute revolves around a cricket academy deal made in 2017, where Aarka Sports allegedly deceived Dhoni of ₹15 crore.

In 2017, Diwakar and Vishwash, representing Aarka Sports Management, entered into an agreement to operate a global cricket academy. The terms of the deal required Aarka Sports to pay a franchise fee and share revenue, but they reportedly failed to comply with these obligations. Despite reminders and legal notices, the issues persisted, leading Dhoni to revoke the authority letter granted to the company on August 15th, 2021.

As per sources, Aarka Sports Management did the Breach of Agreement

According to Dayanand Singh, the legal representative for Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, Aarka Sports Management cheated them, resulting in a significant loss of ₹15 crore. The breach of the agreement prompted Dhoni to take legal action against Diwakar and Vishwash.

The case highlights the alleged failure of Aarka Sports to fulfill their commitments under the agreement. The breach involved non-payment of the franchise fee and failure to share revenue as stipulated in the initial deal. Despite attempts to resolve the matter through reminders and legal notices, Dhoni and his team claim that Aarka Sports did not rectify the situation.

MS Dhoni withdrew the authority letter from Aarka Sports Management that was granted in 2021

Taking a decisive step, Dhoni withdrew the authority letter granted to Aarka Sports Management in August 2021, signaling the termination of their association. This legal move underscores Dhoni’s determination to address the alleged fraud and seek compensation for the reported ₹15 crore loss.

As legal proceedings continue, the case sheds light on the complexities of sports management deals and the importance of ensuring compliance with contractual obligations to maintain the integrity of such agreements. Dhoni’s pursuit of justice reflects his commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and accountability in professional collaborations.
