MS Dhoni to feature in a Bollywood movie or series?
Well, we know that our Captain Cool has all the qualities of being a great actor on the big screen. Dhoni has showcased his artistic abilities in various advertisements; however, this time, he might actually be featuring in a movie/series project.
R Madhavan took the internet by storm on Sunday when he launched a teaser for one of his upcoming projects. While people had no idea what it was going to be about, they were surprised to see MS Dhoni alongside him.
What do we know about MS Dhoni and The Chase?
The project, according to the post by the 3 Idiots actor, is called “The Chase” and will be directed by the renowned filmmaker Vasan Bala. Although there is not much known about the project, the teaser suggests an action-packed story, for which Bala is famously known.
In this teaser, MS Dhoni is seen wearing body armour that reads ‘Task Force’ and brandishing his gun, even firing shots at enemies, while driving a car and performing stunts.
Along with him in the teaser is his partner, R Madhavan. Both characters are introduced with their names, and while MS Dhoni is called cool, he is someone who thinks with his mind. R Madhavan is introduced as a romantic, who thinks from his heart.
The caption of the post reads, “One mission. Two fighters. Buckle up – a wild, explosive chase begins. The Chase teaser is out now. Directed by Vasan Bala. Coming soon.”
MS Dhoni as an action hero
Certainly, the part that got fans hyped was the presence of their beloved cricketing figure, MS Dhoni.
Since the player has retired from international cricket and only features in IPL, his fans are always hoping to get a glimpse of him on social media. Hence, when they saw him in the avatar of an action hero, the internet was certain to go into a frenzy.
The character portrayed by Thala in the teaser is one who reacts to the situation, something we rarely see from him. Furthermore, his action-packed sequences left the fans in awe, as nobody could have ever imagined seeing MS Dhoni do something like this on the big screen.
Is “The Chase” a movie project for MS Dhoni?
From the graphics and the introduction of the two characters, it doesn’t really feel like “The Chase” is going to be a movie for MS Dhoni.
Based on the previous works of MS Dhoni, the level of graphics, the presence of Viraj Gehlani, and the absence of any substance that suggests a story, “The Chase” will either be a product or an awareness campaign.
What leads us to reach this conclusion is the fact that the teaser had a very Set-type vibe. It felt distant from the real world, as if the makers wanted the viewers to know that nothing in the video is real.
The presence of cheap graphics and stunt coordination gives away the idea that it is certainly not a serious project, on a movie or series scale.
As if that was not enough, both the characters are introduced by their real names. Again something that very rarely happens in movie/series trailers. Therefore, “The Chase” has to be a campaign for either a product or for some kind of awareness. It just cannot be a movie featuring the captain cool.
When will “The Chase” release?
As of now, there is no information available on when the MS Dhoni-starrer, “The Chase,” will be released. No information regarding this was provided on the video or the captions shared.
