Urvil Patel Dedicates Record IPL Fifty to His Father

In today’s match for CSK against LSG at M.A Chidambaram Stadium Chennai, Urvil Patel’s joint fastest IPL half century not only helped Chennai to chase the target but also made a promise made to his Dad come true Urvil dedicated this special knock to his Father who once aspired to become a professional cricketer.

Urvil’s knock helped CSK chase the difficult target

Being asked to bat first, Lucknow made a good total of 203 runs in 20 overs in a bowling friendly pitch. Chennai Super Kings were in a difficult situation. When the regular hero of the team Samson fell short early for 28 runs, the pressure level was high.

Then came the uncapped Urvil Patel to the crease. He scored the joint fastest half century in just 13 balls. This feat was achieved previously by Yashasvi Jaiswal for RR in 2023 against KKR.

Patel went on to score 65 off 23 balls and gave an acceleration to the CSK innings before getting out which made it easy for the upcoming batsmen to achieve the target at last over with 4 balls to spare.

What was written on Urvil Patel’s Note To his Father?

After a quick-fire knock, Patel celebrated in a unique way by taking a chit and holding it above. It was done to honor his Dad, Mukesh Patel. Mukesh was a university level sprinter but he always wanted to become a cricketer but couldn’t.

Having worked as a School Physical Training Teacher, he was always keen on his son’s cricketing journey. Only because of his support and training given, Urvil has reached this level.

The chit he showed contained the words in Gujarati “Tamaru sapnu aaje puru thayu cricketer motu banine batavyu” which translates to, “Your dream came true today. I have shown that I’ve become a big cricketer” thus dedicating his special knock to his Dad.
