#4) CSK – 226/6 Against RCB | Bengaluru | April 23rd, 2023
In last year’s IPL league match between CSK and RCB, the men in yellow once again scored a huge 226 on the scoreboard, batting first. Thanks to Devon Conway’s blistering 83 off 45 balls with 8 fours and 8 sixes, Shivam Dubey’s 52, and some late fireworks from English all-rounder Moeen Ali’s 9-ball 19*; CSK put a mammoth total on the board.
Batting second, RCB had a huge total to pursue with its batting stars, Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli, donning the job of openers.
Unfortunately, batting maestro Virat Kohli (6) got out early, courtesy of being clean-bowled by Akash Singh. But, Faf continued his rampage before edging Dhoni behind the stumps. Faf Du Plessis’ 33-ball 62 with 5 boundaries and four sixes set the tempo of the match. Then, Maxwell’s 36-ball 76 (4s x 3, 6s x 8) helped RCB go past 200. With 29 runs to win from the last 2 overs, RCB could only score 21 runs and thus finished their innings at 218/8. With this, CSK won the match by 8 runs.
#3) CSK – 223/3 Against SRH | Hyderabad | May 08, 2013
CSK piled up a huge total of 223/3 in IPL 6 against SRH in Hyderabad. Winning the toss, SRH decided to bowl first, but they didn’t know what was coming! CSK’s dashing duo, Murali Vijay (29) and Mr. Cricket (Michael Hussey), gave a flying start to the team.
CSK openers added a quick 45 runs in 5.2 overs before the right-hander fell prey to SRH’s Perera. Then, Suresh Raina (99*) added a 133-run partnership with Hussey for the second wicket as CSK looked set to go past 200. At 17.2 overs, Hussey departed for 67 (42 balls, 4s x 5, 6s x 4). But Raina continued to score fluently across the ground with 11 boundaries and 3 sixes. At the end of the innings, CSK successfully put 223/3 after 20 overs.
From the very start, it looked a mammoth target for SRH. Apart from Parthiv Patel’s defiant knock of 44 (30 balls, 4s x 6, 6s x 1), Hyderabad’s top and middle order collapsed like a pack of cards in the match. Though Karn Sharma’s 39* showed some resistance at number 8, it was already too late then. At 20 overs, SRH finished their innings at 146/8, thus conceding a 77-run defeat at the hands of CSK.
#2) CSK – 240/5 Against KXIP | Mohali | April 19, 2008
Out of CSK’s top two scores, the Dhoni-led team’s 240 for 5 against KXIP way back in 2008 still continues to remain at the team’s top two highest scores. In the inaugural edition of the tournament, the CSK vs KXIP match soon became the talk of the town as both teams played well, and the match witnessed 400+ runs in just 40 overs.
Winning the toss, CSK opted to bat first, scoring a gigantic 240 on the scoreboard, courtesy Michael Hussey’s 116* off 54 balls with 8 fours and 9 sixes. He was well supported by Raina (32) and Badrinath (31) in the match, as the team posted a huge total on the board, despite losing their first three wickets for just 62 in 7.1 overs.
Chasing CSK’s huge total, KXIP got off to a flying start as both openers clicked. Karan Goel (24) and James Hopes (71) added 56 runs for the first wicket, as the match was up for a thriller. Then, Sangakkara’s 54 (33b, 4s x 5, 6s x 2) made the match more interesting. However, after the southpaw’s dismissal at 17.4, the target looked somewhat unachievable as Punjab still needed 50 runs from 14 balls. After 20 overs, Punjab finished their innings at 207/4, thus CSK won the match by 33 runs.

Chasing csk highest score in ipl 2023 was 235, RR’s Michael Lumb (37) and Naman Ojha 94* (55b, 4s x 8, 6s x 6) started with quick fireworks, adding 69 for the first wicket in 7.1 overs. After Lumb’s dismissal, Naman Ojha’s onslaught continued and got good support from Shane Watson’s 60 (25b, 4s x 5, 6s x 5). With 54 runs needed in the last 17 balls, the match thus slipped away from RR’s favor; still, they were appreciated for their fearless performance on the ground.
