Who has Most Centuries for CSK in IPL?

Chennai Super Kings has three batsman who have scored two centuries each and hold the title of most centuries for CSK jointly. These batters are Murali Vijay, Shane Watson, and most recent joiner Ruturaj Gaikwad. So without further ado, let’s take a look at their performances.

Murali Vijay

Murali Vijay was the first batter to score 2 centuries for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. His first hundred came against Rajasthan Royals in 2010, where he stunned the opposition with a magnificent inning of 127 runs from just 56 balls. This inning came at the home ground of CSK, and included sky lighting 8 fours and 11 sixes.

Two years down the line Vijay scored his second century for CSK. This time it was against Delhi, again at the prestigious Chepauk Stadium. This time he scored 113 runs from 58 balls, which included 15 fours and 4 sixes.

Shane Watson

The Australian best and the reason behind Chennai Super King’s 2018 IPL triumph also holds 2 centuries to his name. What’s even more amazing is the fact that both these centuries came in the same season.

Watson scored his first century of the season against Rajasthaj Royals in Pune, which was CSK’s temporary home in that season. It was a great inning of 106 runs from just 57 balls. The second hundred was more decisive and important as it came in the final of the same season against SRH, at Mumbai.

His blistering knock of 117* off 57 ensured that Chennai went over the line to complete a fairy tale comeback in IPL. This knock helped Chennai Super Kings secure their third IPL title, after returning to the league post 2 year ban.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

The new CSk captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is already a part of the elite group of players with most centuries for Chennai Super Kings. Ever since his debut in 2020, Gaikwad has impressed fans with his great performance.
