Who is Mukesh Choudhary?
Mukesh Choudhary is a left-arm seamer from Pardodas village in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, who carved his path through India’s hard-earned domestic circuit. He moved to Maharashtra to pursue professional cricket and rose through local club structures before breaking into the Maharashtra senior side in domestic competitions.
Mukesh first gained attention in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where his ability to swing the new ball at pace stood out. His left-arm angle, natural movement, and willingness to attack in the powerplay made him a rare asset in white-ball cricket. He is not a defensive bowler. He pitches it up, looks for edges, and challenges top-order batters early. At his best, Mukesh is an aggressive new-ball specialist built for high-pressure openings.
Mukesh Choudary’s IPL Journey
Mukesh Choudary has been part of the Chennai Super Kings ever since his debut in 2022. In his first season, his exceptional power-play swings made him the lead wicket taker with 16 scalps in a single season. This made him one of the best players when the senior players weren’t active in the game.
While he is a powerful bowler, his batting game is improving at a steady pace. After 39 runs in 3.3 overs, Choudary focused on batting as well. His hard work paid off when he took 3 wickets and gave 19 runs against MI. One of his best performances is the 4/46 against SRH in 2022.
However, like many skilled players, injuries slowed down his growth in the IPL. After the successful performance in the 2022 IPL, he was yet again signed for the IPL 2023, but due to injury, he had to sit out throughout the season. Due to recovery, he has played 1 match in 2024 and two games in 2025.
Our star bowler is slowly getting back in his game and continues to play in 2026, as management has faith in his skills.
