Prime Sports Owner reacts to Dhoni Doning his Brand Sticker ahead of IPL 2024

CSK captain MS Dhoni recently caught the attention of fans and cricket enthusiasts when he unveiled a new bat sticker during his training sessions for the upcoming IPL 2024. The sticker prominently displayed the label ‘Prime Sports,’ a gesture from Dhoni to his childhood friend Paramjit Singh, the owner of ‘Prime Sports.’

Paramjit Singh, who is the founder of ‘Prime Sports,’ has been a longtime friend of Dhoni, and the new bat sticker was Dhoni’s way of acknowledging their friendship and supporting his friend’s sports apparel company. ‘Prime Sports’ began its journey two decades ago as a store in Ranchi, and Paramjit Singh expressed his pride and joy upon noticing Dhoni’s heartwarming gesture.

“I am feeling very proud of him. He has always been there for us. And this is our friendship. Friendship No. 1,” Paramjit Singh shared in an interview with Aaj Tak. He also revealed a bat gifted to him by Dhoni, autographed with the message: “Best wishes, Chhotu Bhaiya.”

Dhoni’s choice to feature ‘Prime Sports’ on his bat is in line with his tradition of showing gratitude and courtesy towards individuals or institutions that have supported him throughout his cricketing journey. Notably, during Dhoni’s final game for India in the 2019 World Cup semi-final, he adorned stickers representing SS and BAS, the first two major bat sponsors in his cricketing career.

As Dhoni approaches what is likely to be his final IPL season, he continues to exemplify his gratitude towards those who have played a significant role in his life. The news of Dhoni’s new bat sticker made headlines, even reaching international shores, with Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist commenting on it during a T20I match between Australia and West Indies.

“I saw him hitting some balls in the nets, MS Dhoni. There’s a new bat sticker on his bat. Just a local sports store of one of his schoolmates. Whack the company name on your bat just to give a boost to sales,” remarked Gilchrist during the commentary.

Dhoni’s gesture not only highlights his loyalty to friends but also serves as an inspiring example of acknowledging and supporting grassroots businesses and local connections. As the IPL 2024 approaches, fans eagerly await to witness Dhoni’s final hurrah on the cricket field, and his off-field gestures continue to leave a lasting impact.
