Chennai Super Kings have released a trailer to announce the release of their new docu-series, “The Making Of…” which seems to feature CSK’s players and their lives on and beyond the cricket field.
The five-time IPL champions teased about it using clips that went viral on the internet. The trailer received a lot of love from the fans, and hence, the CSK “The Making of…” trailer is finally out.
What is CSK docu-series “The Making Of…” about?
From the first glimpse, the series seems to focus on only four players now. The first one is Ruturaj Gaikwad, who opens the trailer by talking about how he will fight for his teammates.
There are several other scenes of Gaikwad, but one of the most famous is captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s conversation with his wife. In the video, it was shown how his wife, Utkarsha Pawar, who is also a cricketer, got the news that Gaikwad will be the next captain of Chennai Super Kings.
Then, we have a glimpse of Ravichandran Ashwin’s parents. The legendary spinner’s mother talks about how her husband has been obsessed with our spin maestro since he was a kid.
In the third scene, we are introduced to our silent killer-slinger, Matheesha Pathirana. It appears that his sister, along with his family, is featured in this series, and they narrate the other side of Pathirana’s life—how he is beyond the field.
The fourth player teased in the trailer is Gurjapneet Singh. He is a surprise inclusion here, for he has yet to play a season for the Chennai Super Kings. However, that doesn’t mean people won’t want to know his story.
What really got every CSK fan hooked is the one scene featuring MS Dhoni. His wry smile tells a different story. Hence, it will be interesting to see if we get to witness MS Dhoni in the new CSK Series.
When is CSK series “The Making Of…” releasing?
The Chennai Super Kings’ recently launched trailer for their new series has no release date. It reads “coming soon,” but one can be rest assured that the series will be dropped before the IPL 2025.
This could be a strategic move to get people involved with the squad. Get them talking about the players, hence, when the action unfolds on the ground, the people know what these players have endured to get where they are today.
How many players feature in the Chennai Super Kings series?
The trailer shows four CSK players in the new docu-series announced by CSK: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravichandran Ashwin, Matheesha Pathirana, and Gurjapneet Singh.
But this doesn’t necessarily mean that the series will be limited to these players. The trailer reads, “Get ready for some inspiring, emotional, hilarious, exciting stories,” so it’s anyone’s guess.
Still, given their positioning so far, one can guarantee that the series will feature some new and unseen sides of our favorite players. As fans, that’s what we really ask for.
Other series on Chennai Super Kings
There is another series on Chennai named “Roar of the Lion.” This series was made after Chennai Super Kings returned to IPL in 2018 with a bang and won their third title as well. The main purpose of this story was to show how much the team meant to the players and the fans alike.
CSK’s ban was lifted in 2018, and they returned after two seasons. Hence, immense pressure was on them to prove their innocence and that playing the game was their biggest and most cherished possession.
That’s exactly what the team did. Dubbed as “daddy’s army,” for having too many senior players in their late 30s. However, the team proved everyone wrong by winning the title.
