TSK vs SFU, Highlights, MLC 2025: It was a tough night at Grand Prairie Stadium when the Texas Super Kings (TSK) faced the San Francisco Unicorns in Match 10 of MLC 2025. TSK gave it their all, led by a spectacular century from their captain, Faf du Plessis, but the Unicorns’ batting lineup proved too strong, overrunning TSK’s solid total to keep their unbeaten streak alive and breaking TSK’s back-to-back wins streak.
TSK vs SFU, Highlights, MLC 2025: TSK Batting Sets a Strong Target
The Unicorns won the toss and chose to field first, putting TSK’s batsmen to the test. TSK responded magnificently, posting a strong 198 for 5 in their 20 overs. The highlight of their innings was undoubtedly their captain, Faf du Plessis, who played an absolute masterclass. He blazed his way to a spectacular 100 runs off just 51 balls, showing incredible form and power. He literally carried the TSK innings on his shoulders!
Faf received excellent support from Saiteja Mukkamalla, who continued his rapid scoring, smashing 38 runs off just 24 balls. Devon Conway also added a steady 23 runs from 23 deliveries, helping to build partnerships. Despite Faf’s incredible barrage, the San Francisco bowlers, particularly Xavier Bartlett (who took 2 wickets for 31 runs) and Haris Rauf (2 wickets for 34 runs), managed to pick up wickets at decent intervals, which kept TSK from pushing past the 200-mark even more convincingly.
Tough Loss for TSK as Unicorns’ Batting Overcomes Faf du Plessis’ Century
Defending 198, TSK knew they had a good total, but the Unicorns came out firing. Their batsmen were simply ruthless, and unfortunately, TSK couldn’t stop the run flow. Finn Allen, who has been in incredible form this season, continued his hot streak, hammering a blistering 78 runs off just 35 balls. He simply took their chase by storm, hitting boundaries seemingly at will.
Their captain, Matthew Short, played the anchor role perfectly, complementing Allen’s aggression with a superb 61 runs off just 29 balls. And Jake Fraser-McGurk chipped in with a quick 37 runs off 25 deliveries, ensuring the momentum never slowed down.
Despite TSK’s bowlers’ best efforts, they just couldn’t break their partnerships quickly enough. Adam Milne managed to pick up a wicket (1 for 24), and Mohammad Mohsin (1 for 29) and Daryl Mitchell (1 for 31) also claimed a wicket each. However, the Unicorns chased down TSK’s target within 16.1 overs, scoring 202 for 3.
This loss stings for TSK, especially after Faf’s incredible century, but it also shows the high level of competition in MLC 2025. TSK put up a big score, but the Unicorns simply batted brilliantly to chase it down. TSK will learn from this game and come back stronger in their next fixture!
