While Dhoni enjoys his hiatus from the sport, the Indian cricket team secured a spot in the World Cup final with an impressive 70-run win over New Zealand in Mumbai. In this crucial match, Virat Kohli achieved a record-breaking 50th one-day international hundred, scoring 117. Shreyas Iyer complemented this with a rapid 105, contributing to a commanding total of 397-4. The innings also featured Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 80, who retired hurt on 79.

The bowling highlight of the match was Mohammed Shami’s sensational seven-wicket haul (7-57), dismissing New Zealand for 327. Despite reaching the finals at the last two World Cups and defeating India in a 2019 semi-final, New Zealand fell short this time.

India is now set to face either South Africa or Australia in the World Cup final scheduled for Sunday.
