In an interview with IPL ahead of the auction, Pant reflected on the challenges he faced during his recovery from the accident, expressing gratitude for being alive. He described the initial phase as physically demanding due to the pain endured. However, Pant emphasized the progress in his recovery, stating, “I felt like I couldn’t face people and all, and I felt like I had to do something which gives me confidence.”
Despite the challenges, Pant actively participated in the auction proceedings. On the other hand, MS Dhoni, the skipper of Chennai Super Kings, was not present at the auction venue.
