The wait is almost over, and we are just a few hours away from watching our beloved Texas Super Kings return to the field for another exciting Major League Cricket season. As anticipation builds among fans, discussions around the ideal Texas Super Kings Playing XI 2026 have already taken center stage.
With a talented squad featuring proven match-winners, dynamic all-rounders, and quality bowlers, TSK have plenty of options to choose from. As supporters of the franchise, we have put together our preferred Texas Super Kings predicted XI, one that we believe gives the team the best chance of lifting the trophy in MLC 2026.
Our MLC 2026 Playing XI for Texas Super Kings
With TSK set to take on SEO at the Grand Prairie Stadium tomorrow, excitement is building among fans ahead of the MLC 2026 opener. Unlike the IPL, Major League Cricket allows teams to field up to six overseas players, giving franchises greater flexibility when selecting their strongest XI and creating the ideal balance between international stars and domestic talent. With that in mind, here is our preferred TSK best XI as they begin their quest for silverware.
- Smit Patel (WK)
Having a wicketkeeper open the batting always gives us a bit more flexibility with the overall TSK team combination. It frees up an extra slot elsewhere and allows us to stack the middle order with all-rounders and match-winners. Smit is also a local player, which means he can feature throughout the season without affecting the overseas balance.
While his numbers from last season may not jump off the page, his 100 runs in 6 matches showed enough promise for us to back him again. With another year of experience behind him, this could be the season where he cements his place at the top.
- Faf du Plessis (Captain) – 1st Overseas
There is no debate here. Faf walks into any Texas Super Kings predicted XI. A Super Kings legend across leagues and arguably the greatest player in MLC history, the skipper remains the heartbeat of the franchise.
His numbers are simply ridiculous: 934 runs in 25 innings, 3 centuries, and 6 fifties. No player has scored more runs in Major League Cricket history. When we think of Texas Super Kings, we think of Faf du Plessis.
- Saiteja Mukkamalla
At just 22 years old, Saiteja is already one of the brightest stars in American cricket. He has represented USA in more than 40 ODIs and 20 T20Is while averaging over 40 in both formats, which speaks volumes about his consistency.
For TSK, he has scored 180 runs in 10 innings so far. The numbers do not fully reflect his talent, and we genuinely feel this could be the season where he announces himself as one of the league’s premier batters.
- Milind Kumar
Milind has quietly become one of the mainstays of this franchise. If fit, we expect him to play every game because he brings stability to a batting lineup filled with aggressive stroke-makers.
In 18 matches for us, he has scored 219 runs with a half-century to his name. His role is unlikely to be flashy, but every successful side needs an anchor, and Milind is perfectly suited to that responsibility.
- Shubham Ranjane
This might be the year Shubham Ranjane becomes a genuine MLC superstar. He has all the tools—power, composure, adaptability, and the ability to contribute in multiple phases of the game.
In 17 innings for TSK, he has piled up 419 runs at a strike rate of nearly 140. While he is yet to bowl an over in Major League Cricket, his versatility gives us a valuable cushion. With a deeper batting lineup this season, do not be surprised if we finally see him roll his arm over for a couple of overs.
- Wiaan Mulder – 2nd Overseas
Fresh from the Super Kings ecosystem at JSK, Wiaan Mulder looks like one of the smartest additions to the squad. This will be his first season in yellow for TSK, and we expect him to make an immediate impact.
Across more than 150 T20 matches, Mulder has scored 2,432 runs and picked up 88 wickets. Players who can genuinely influence both departments are rare, and that is exactly what makes him such a valuable asset.
- Donovan Ferreira – 3rd Overseas
Donovan Ferreira is the kind of cricketer every franchise dreams of having. He can bat, keep wickets, bowl off-spin, and change games in a matter of overs. Simply put, he is one of the biggest reasons TSK remain title contenders every year.
Last season’s MVP smashed 248 runs in just 9 innings at a strike rate above 200. Coming off another strong IPL campaign, we expect him to once again be one of the driving forces behind our season.
- Akeal Hosein – 4th Overseas
The Super Kings connection became even stronger when Akeal represented CSK this year. For us, he remains one of the most underrated players in franchise cricket.
His record speaks for itself: 19 wickets in 16 MLC matches, placing him among the league’s leading wicket-takers. Add his control in the powerplay and useful lower-order batting, and it becomes obvious why he is a guaranteed starter in our TSK best XI.
- Mohammad Mohsin
Mohsin may not get the headlines, but every successful squad needs bowlers like him. His variations and ability to keep batters guessing make him a valuable option, particularly on slower surfaces.
He has picked up 17 wickets in 17 MLC matches while regularly delivering miserly spells. We expect his role to grow as the season progresses, especially during the second half of the tournament when conditions begin to assist spin.
- Nandre Burger – 5th Overseas
Burger enters MLC 2026 with plenty of momentum behind him. Whether it was with JSK, Seattle Orcas, or TSK, he has consistently shown his ability to trouble batters with pace, bounce, and aggression.
His MLC numbers stand at 12 wickets in 11 matches, and he is coming off another impressive franchise season. Left-arm quicks are always valuable in T20 cricket, and Burger adds a different dimension to the attack.
- Adam Milne – 6th Overseas
If there is one bowler opposition batters will not enjoy facing, it is Adam Milne. When fully fit, he remains one of the quickest and most dangerous fast bowlers in franchise cricket.
His 14 wickets in just 7 matches last season were a major reason behind TSK’s success. Milne was phenomenal throughout the campaign, and we expect him to lead the pace attack once again in this MLC 2026 playing XI.
Possible Changes to Our Texas Super Kings Predicted XI
While this is our preferred Texas Super Kings lineup, there are a few selection calls that could change as the tournament progresses. Players like Rilee Rossouw may miss out initially due to the overseas balance, but if he comes into the side, we expect one of Milind Kumar or Shubham Ranjane to make way, with a local fast bowler replacing Adam Milne to maintain the six-overseas-player rule.
Similarly, Calvin Savage remains an excellent backup option for Wiaan Mulder. These alternatives give TSK the flexibility to adjust their TSK team combination without weakening what is already a strong MLC 2026 playing XI.
Final Thoughts
Looking at the squad on paper, we genuinely believe this Texas Super Kings Playing XI 2026 has everything required to challenge for the title. There is experience at the top, firepower through the middle order, genuine all-round quality, and a bowling attack capable of winning games in any conditions.
What excites us most is the balance of this TSK team combination. The blend of proven international stars and established domestic performers gives us tremendous flexibility throughout the tournament.
If key players stay fit and perform to their potential, this could easily become the TSK best XI we have seen since the franchise entered Major League Cricket. As the action begins, we cannot wait to see this team take the field and make another run at the championship.
