Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, has recently announced the establishment of their third overseas Super Kings Academy, this time in Sydney, Australia. This highlights CSK’s commitment to fostering young cricket talents globally. The new academy will join the existing international centers in Dallas, USA, and Reading, United Kingdom.
Located at Cricket Central, 161 Silverwater Road, Sydney Olympic Park, the Super Kings Academy in Sydney will feature exceptional indoor and outdoor training facilities. These facilities will operate year-round, providing impactful cricket coaching for boys and girls. The academy will be starting in September.
CSK CEO, KS Viswanathan, expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, emphasizing the special relationship between CSK and Australia that dates back to the start of the IPL in 2008. “We are happy to extend our special journey with Australia, which began with the inception of IPL in 2008. Australia is a champion country with a strong sporting culture and rich cricketing legacy. The Super Kings Academy will tap into and help groom cricketers, both boys and girls, adding to the already strong system in the country,” he said.
Viswanathan also highlighted the significance of the global expansion in cricket, noting how geographical boundaries are rapidly decreasing in size. He remarked, “Geographical boundaries are shrinking rapidly in cricket over the last few years. With presence in India, USA, UK and now Australia, we have the opportunity to develop the next generation of cricketers through our world-class facilities, strong coaching curriculum, exchange programmes and more.”
The Super Kings Academy aims to nurture young talent and provide them with the best possible training and facilities. This initiative is part of CSK’s broader vision to contribute to the growth and development of cricket worldwide. The academy will offer full year-round coaching facility and facilitate exchange programs, thereby creating opportunities for budding cricketers to learn and grow.

1. Super Kings Academy, Hosur
This franchise-based Academy is located at the MS Dhoni Global School. The main ground has two turf wickets and one matting wicket. The practice facility has five turf wickets, one matting wicket and two Astro turf wickets. The Academy has been operational since April 2023.
2. Super Kings Academy, Coimbatore
The centre at FE Sports Zone, Peelamedu is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities with nine pitches (5 Turf, 2 Matting and 2 Astro Turf) and floodlights. Coaching classes for boys and girls commenced in January 2024.
3. Super Kings Academy, Chennai – Sri Ramachandra Medical College
This is our third center in Chennai and is equipped with 10 pitches (8 Turf and 2 Astro Turf pitches) and floodlights for practice. It has been operational since April 2024.
4. Super Kings Academy, Trichy
The franchise-based facility at Kamala Niketan Montessori School is equipped with five turf wickets, two matting wickets and two Astro turf wickets and floodlights. The Academy in Trichy has been operational since April 2023.
5. Super Kings Academy, Karaikudi
Alagappa Institutions in Karaikudi offer a franchise facility with eight pitches (4 Turf, 2 Astro Turf, and 2 Matting wickets), floodlights, and a full-fledged ground with turf and matting pitches for practice. It has been operational since April 2024.
6. Super Kings Academy, Chennai – Guru Nanak College
This state-of-the-art facility in Guru Nanak College is equipped with a total of 8 pitches (2 Turf, 3 Matting, and 3 Concrete pitches) and floodlights for practice. It has been operational since April 2024.
8. Super Kings Academy, Tiruppur
The franchise-based centre at the Yali Sports Limited is a state-of-the-art facility with ten pitches (5 Turf pitches, 3 Matting pitches, and 2 Astro Turf pitches) and floodlights. Coaching classes for boys and girls commenced in February 2024.
9. Super Kings Academy, 361 Madha Koil St, Vivekananda Nagar, Thoraipakkam, Chennai
This state-of-the-art centre has 14 Turf pitches, two concrete wickets and five indoor wickets apart from an open net. It also has a fitness center, a lounge and a classroom. It has been operational since April 2022.

With the addition of the Sydney academy, CSK now has a significant presence in key cricketing nations, enhancing its ability to scout and nurture young talent globally.
