Mumbai Indians (MI) secured the services of Deepak Chahar for ₹9.25 crore in the recently held IPL 2025 mega auction. This marks the end of Chahar’s long association with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Deepak had been an integral part of CSK since joining the franchise in 2018, contributing significantly to the team’s success over the years.
He played 76 matches for CSK, taking 76 wickets and was instrumental in their title wins in 2018, 2021, and 2023. His skills with the ball, especially in the death overs, were crucial to the team’s strategy. However, despite his impressive contributions, he was not retained by CSK in the auction, leading to his move to MI.
