‘MS Dhoni Punched A TV Screen’: Harbhajan Singh Reveals Thala Lost His Cool

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Harbhajan Singh recently revealed a surprising incident involving MS Dhoni after CSK’s loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2024. The match was crucial for CSK, and after losing, their hopes of reaching the playoffs were shattered. Dhoni, known for his calm demeanor, showed his frustration in an unexpected way.

After the match, Dhoni was seen walking off the field without shaking hands with RCB players, including Virat Kohli. This caught everyone’s attention, especially since many believed it might be Dhoni’s last game as a player for CSK. Later, Kohli went to CSK’s dressing room to meet Dhoni and gave him a hug, showing respect and acknowledging the tough moment.

Harbhajan, who was doing commentary for Jio Cinema at the time, shared more details about what happened behind the scenes. He revealed that Dhoni was so upset after the defeat that he punched a TV screen outside the dressing room, breaking it. In a podcast with Sports Yaari, Harbhajan said, “Maybe Dhoni’s dream was shattered after losing to RCB. He left without shaking hands and then punched the screen outside the dressing room.”

This revelation shows a different side of Dhoni, who is usually known for staying calm under pressure. Harbhajan also spoke about Dhoni’s leadership style compared to Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma. He said, “I choose Rohit Sharma as a better captain because he connects with his team. He talks to players and asks them what they need.”

Harbhajan noted that Dhoni leads in a different way, often staying quiet and letting his actions speak. “Dhoni wouldn’t talk to players much. He has his own way of leading, maybe through silence,” Harbhajan added.

This story highlights Dhoni’s human side, showing that even he feels the pressure at times. It also opens up a conversation about the different leadership styles of two of India’s greatest captains, Dhoni and Rohit Sharma.
