Gaikwad’s remarkable knock of 108 runs not only guided CSK to a commanding total but also etched his name in the record books. With this innings, Gaikwad surpassed Faf du Plessis to become the first CSK player to score over 2000 runs as an opener in the history of the IPL. His tally now stands at 2018 runs, highlighting his consistency and impact at the top of the order for CSK.

Moreover, Gaikwad’s century also propelled him to another milestone as he became the first player in IPL history to score a hundred as captain for Chennai Super Kings. This feat further solidified his stature within the team and showcased his ability to rise to the occasion under leadership responsibilities.

Not only did Gaikwad excel individually, but he also rewrote the record books for CSK captains. His innings of 109 runs surpassed the previous highest individual score by a CSK captain, which was held by the legendary MS Dhoni. Gaikwad’s innings of sheer brilliance showcased his capability to lead from the front and set new benchmarks for the team.

In addition to his batting prowess, Gaikwad joined an elite group of IPL captains who have scored centuries in the tournament’s history. He became the eighth captain overall and the first from CSK to achieve this milestone. This achievement further cements Gaikwad’s status as a top performer in the IPL and highlights his ability to excel under pressure in leadership roles.

Gaikwad’s innings of 109 runs, which included 12 boundaries and 3 sixes, not only propelled CSK to a formidable total but also showcased his ability to dominate the opposition bowling attack. Supported by Shivam Dube’s quickfire 66 runs, Gaikwad’s innings played a pivotal role in CSK’s commanding performance in the match.
